Bulldog Family,
Saturday’s game against Furman ended in a 24–14 defeat — a tough result for all of us who believe deeply in this team. We prepared with purpose and fought with pride, but we fell short of our standard in key moments that made the difference.
While the outcome wasn’t what we wanted, I saw fight, grit, and flashes of the kind of football we’re capable of playing. Our players never backed down, and their effort reflected the heart of The Citadel — discipline, toughness, and commitment to one another.
And I’ll tell you this: Purple will always make me puke during Citadel–Furman week. That rivalry runs deep, and it fuels our competitive fire every single time we take the field.
Now our focus turns to our military rival, VMI, as we prepare for one of the most meaningful games of the year. The Silver Shako is more than just a trophy — it’s a symbol of pride, tradition, and the legacy of those who have worn the uniform and represented The Citadel with honor. We intend to keep it right where it belongs — in Charleston.
We’ll own our mistakes, learn from them, and attack this week with renewed purpose. Every challenge presents a chance to grow, and this team is determined to respond the right way.
To our fans, alumni, and families — thank you for standing with us. Your support means more than you know. We feel your energy every snap, and we’re proud to represent you and this great institution.
We’ll keep building, keep fighting, and keep getting better — together.
Stay true, stay together, and stay Bulldog Strong.
