Dear Citadel Football Family,

Last week’s loss to Western Carolina was a tough one — there’s no way around it. Our team is disappointed. We’re hurting. We’re competitors, and we care deeply about this program, each other, and representing The Citadel with pride. When we fall short, it stings. But disappointment can be a teacher, and we will learn from this.

As a team, we must continue growing in how we handle adversity — not just in the game of football, but in the game of life. In moments of in-game disappointment, we must choose to rebound, to respond, and to rise. That doesn’t happen by accident — it happens through a relentless commitment to our process and our mindset.

We talk every day about having an A.T.T.A.C.K. mindset:

Attitude

Togetherness

Toughness

Accountability

Character

Knowledge

These aren’t just words — this is part of the culture we are continuing to build here at The Citadel. Culture is not a slogan. Culture drives behavior — and behavior drives results. We will stay on the course, stay together, and keep building.

Our players are fighting. Our coaches are grinding. And we are not backing down from the challenge. This is a journey, and I believe in where we are going.

We now turn our attention to one of the most important games of the season — a rivalry that means everything: The Citadel vs. Furman.

We don’t have to remind anyone what this game means. Around here, we’ve got a saying that sums it up just fine: “Purple Makes Me Puke.”

We’re looking forward to the opportunity to line up, fight together, and represent The Citadel with the pride, toughness, and unity our alumni and supporters expect and deserve.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We feel your energy, we value your commitment, and we’re going to keep giving everything we have — for you, for this institution, and for each other.

Respectfully,

Go Dogs!
