Bulldog Nation,

This past weekend, we went on the road to face the 6th-ranked University of Mississippi. We came up short on the scoreboard, and as a program, we don’t deal in moral victories — our standard is to win football games. Still, there were areas of disciplined play and execution that we will continue to build on as we move forward into conference play.

Game Recap – Ole Miss

Defensively, our players competed with toughness and discipline. We held their top rusher to 51 yards, with a long of just 15 yards, and no receiver gained over 100 yards. Against one of the nation’s most explosive offenses, that performance reflects our players’ effort and commitment to assignment football.

Offensively, we played a clean game — no turnoversno penalties, and smooth personnel exchanges throughout. While that’s the level of discipline we expect, we have to turn that execution into points. Our focus moving forward is on finishing drives and capitalizing when opportunities present themselves.

Special Teams
Our special teams coverage units were outstanding. We controlled field position with a net punt average of 45.75 yards, one of our strongest efforts of the season. That consistency in the kicking game is critical to our overall success.

Looking Ahead – Wofford College

This week, we face Wofford College, a familiar and well-coached Southern Conference opponent. Wofford enters the game with a 4–6 overall record and 3–3 in SoCon play, but that record doesn’t tell the whole story — their five FCS losses have come by a combined 12 points. They are a physical, disciplined team that plays every opponent tough, and we will need to match that intensity from the opening snap.

Our preparation this week is centered on finishing — in practice, in execution, and on the scoreboard. Every rep and every detail will matter.

Thank you for your continued support of Citadel Football. Your backing means a great deal to our players and staff as we work daily to uphold the standards of toughness, discipline, and pride that define this program and The Citadel itself.
