Thursday - August 19
12th Annual Kickoff Classic Set for Thursday

The 12th Annual Kickoff Golf Classic that unofficially kicks off The Citadel football season and again presented by Wachovia, will be held Thursday, August 19, at Wild Dunes Resort's Links and Harbor courses on the Isle of Palms.  Cost is $150 per person and includes green and cart fees, beverages, lunch from several prominent restaurants, prizes and entry to The Citadel Club of Charleston's annual Shrimp & Beer Night at The Citadel Beach House that follows the golf outing.
All proceeds from the tournament go directly to The Citadel Brigadier Foundation and their mission to fund grants-in-aid for our cadet-student-athletes.
The highest raising class will be recognized at the Presbyterian College game on Sept. 18 and will receive a catered tailgate on the Club Level Terrace for that game.  In addition the winning class will be able to designate $12,500 to any specific scholarship in TCBF's Memorial Fund.

Thursday - August 19
Shrimp and Beer Night Also Set for Thursday Night

The Citadel Club of Charleston will host their annual Shrimp & Beer Night that is open to all fans of The Citadel on Thursday, August 19, at 6 pm at The Citadel Beach House on the Isle of Palms.
Football coach Kevin Higgins, who begins his sixth season on the Bulldogs' sidelines, will be the featured speaker.  He will talk about the team's switch to the triple-option offense and 4-2-5 defensive alignment, returning and new players, and will introduce the new members of the coaching staff.
An upgraded menu will also be available to go along with the traditional shrimp and beer.
The event is free to members of The Citadel Club of Charleston and $25 for non-members.  Participants will also be able to secure their 2011 dues ($75; and includes the Shrimp & Been Night) at that time.

"Meet the Bulldogs Day"

The annual "Meet the Bulldogs" for football that is sponsored by our long-time partner Coca-Cola will be held on Saturday, Aug. 21.  The event begins with a complementary lunch in McAlister Field House and then the 1:30 pm scrimmage at the Maybank Triplets Practice Facility at Willson Field. The program will continue at 3 pm with autographs, schedule cards, posters and more available to all fans inside the McAlister Field House lobby.
