A leader born to coach has 'Bulldog' determination to lead Citadel football (Charleston.net)

Kevin Higgins stood outside the Emerson High School locker room, waiting for
the football team to come in from practice. When the players had undressed and
varsity coach Larry Ennis — a legend in the blue-collar town of Emerson, N.J.
— had left the premises, the eighth-grader with the bright blue eyes dashed
into the empty locker room and "borrowed" shoulder pads, thigh pads
and mouthpieces.

As Citadel football players dress for practice these days, they do so in a
renovated locker room complete with 120 new lockers. They work out on a
sparkling new artificial turf field and in a weight room stocked with new
equipment. After practice, they can relax and study in a new learning center in
Seignious Hall. And coaches can review practice and game film on a new digital
video system, the same kind used by NFL teams. (more)
